TV has been my goal since before I started YouTube. — © Grace Helbig
TV has been my goal since before I started YouTube.
Youtube was the start of my career officially, although since I was 4 I've wanted to be a singer. I've performed here and there before youtube, but youtube push me much further.
For me, because I've been such a YouTube lover since day one, I want to continue doing YouTube but also branch out and do other things simultaneously.
I'm so inspired by people like Issa Rae who started on YouTube or Abbi and Ilana from 'Broad City' who also started on YouTube.
I used to put like, 'Yo Gotti type beats,' 'Future type beats' on YouTube. And uhh, I started getting paid off YouTube. Like YouTube started giving me Google AdSense checks.
Ever since I started all of this TV weirdness, I just tried to make each year better than before professionally.
My whole initial goal was to be a comedian, so it's not like I chose to do a TV show out of nowhere. It's kind of always been goal to do a TV show.
I have been a huge fan of Sangakkara Sir, since I started watching cricket on the TV.
When we started doing YouTube, the goal was, hey, let's make stuff that we want to see, that entertains us.
YouTube is the new TV. I'm the voice of the young people. I feel like kids these days don't watch TV anymore... No, I will never leave YouTube. Never ever ever... If I do, you can do whatever you want to me.
I just made random videos with my mom's camera, before YouTube even started. It was just my family and friends in a few spoofs of scary movies and mock talk shows. And then I found out about YouTube so I posted a ton of those videos on there.
That's been my goal since I was a child and saw the Spice Girls on TV: I was like, I want to wear those fancy outfits and sing my heart out on a big stage.
I absolutely love what I do. And I want to dance for as long as I can and feel good about what I'm putting out there on the stage. But my goal has always been to be a principal dancer with ABT. Before I knew that there had never been a black woman, that was always my goal. I wanted to dance Odette-Odile and Kitri and "Don Quixote" and Aurora in "Sleeping Beauty." So that's still my goal. But knowing that it's never been done before, I think makes me fight even harder.
I want the target on my back. I want everybody to come after me. That's been my goal since I started fighting.
I'm going to continue posting on my YouTube, which is youtube.com/nolansotillo. So I mean, if I get signed and come out with an album, it would be just another... that is a goal of mine.
Sleep deprivation and I are old friends. I've been familiar with it for almost 20 years, ever since I started getting up at ridiculous o'clock for breakfast TV.
I've been doing this since 2011, when I started on Instagram. Building my presence on there was important to my brand, but I wanted to take my audience to other platforms, so I then crossed over to Twitter second, then YouTube third. It wasn't until I made my fourth crossover to a different platform that I went to Vine.
