I always wanted to have a technical career that was also creative. I have been extremely lucky in that sense to be able to combine those two things.
I was always looking for a career that could combine my creative interests with my technical side, and it ends up directing films is the perfect combination.
I had two competing ambitions when I was a child: I wanted to be a Scientist and Discover Great Things, but I also wanted to be an Author and Write Great Things. I've always tried to combine the analytical with the creative, to some extent or another, because I find it hard to do one without the other. I've worked as a tech journalist, social media consultant, and now am self-publishing fiction.
Career-wise, I feel very lucky to have always been able to follow my creative path.
I always wanted to be a writer. Maybe, had I been brought up in another generation, I might have just gone into writing rather than medicine - which is not to say that I didn't also have a great attraction towards the idea of being a healer. Fortunately, I've been able to combine the two in ways I could never possibly have imagined.
I've been extremely lucky in that I've been a very successful model for a long time. So now I'm an actress and a mother. I'm a theatre rat, which I always wanted to be - I've wanted to act since I was 14 - and I never get bored, ever, and I have four beautiful children. I am, in fact, so darn lucky.
I've been extremely lucky in my career, in terms of artists and colorists I've been able to work with, and I think 'Helheim' is a perfect example of that look playing out perfectly.
I don't know anybody who thinks they have it all... I count myself extremely lucky to have a fantastic family and the career I always wanted.
My brother and I have been able to get on and have been very lucky to do things with our family that other people wouldn't have been able to do. But then again, we've also been able to live a normal life as well.
I always wanted to be a chef. Flavors and food were always of interest to me, but it was how those things brought friends and family together to celebrate not only the special occasions but everyday life. It has been a blessing that I have been able to pursue a career that creates a product that brings people together.
I think it's important to be authentic but also be able to have fun and not be overly controlling or insecure. Dating is just one of those things where it's kind of when you know, you know. I have been really busy with my career and sometimes I find it hard to juggle the two.
I'm extremely lucky that my passion - making and creating - is also my career.
I always wanted to be an actor and I'd never dreamt that not only would I be able to do this for a living, but also on top of that I'd be able to choose and steer the course of my own career.
I guess I'm fortunate in that two things I always wanted to do, since I was 16, were play music and get into news media. I'm very lucky to have two things that can engage my brain at once.
In my career, if you follow my career and watched everything that I've ever done from the time I was in high school to where I'm at now, I've always been able to reach the pinnacle. In football, I was able to win championships and go to bowl games in college, be an All-American linebacker, and there were a lot of things I was able to accomplish.
If you're just creative, you'll always have to rely on technical people. If you're creative and technical, you're unstoppable.
I do like to be creative and I'm very lucky that I've been given different areas in which I'm able to do that - whether it be film or television or theatre or whatever. I'm also still into music and recording.
