A Quote by Grant Shapps

We must formulate policies to allow everyone to have the same opportunities in life and fix our broken society too. — © Grant Shapps
We must formulate policies to allow everyone to have the same opportunities in life and fix our broken society too.
Broken Britain isn't just about our indebted economy, it's also about our broken society and broken politics too.
We have received too much from God to allow ourselves opportunities for unbelief. We have received too many gifts and privileges to allow a grumbling, murmuring heart to disqualify us of our destiny. In contrast, the thankful heart sees the best part of every situation. It sees problems and weaknesses as opportunities, struggles as refining tools, and sinners as saints in progress.
Look at what is broken in society, figure out how to make it better, and then, around that, formulate a business.
Everyone agrees that our immigration system is broken. Building a wall with Mexico isn't going to fix it.
All of us were born at some point, and at some point, unfortunately, most people get sick or need to care for a loved one who is sick. I mean, that's just acknowledging the reality of how we have to have labor market policies that allow people to have families, which is why we work in the first place. We have to have policies that allow us to be able to focus on our jobs and be highly productive employees. You need to be able to have policies that allow us to adjudicate between those two.
Here in the U.K., our government is committed to building a society that works for everyone - not just a privileged few. We must do exactly the same abroad.
When an individual passes from one period of life to another a time comes when he cannot go on in senseless activity and excitement as before, but has to understand that although he has out-grown what before used to direct him, this does not mean that he must live without any reasonable guidance, but rather that he must formulate for himself an understanding of life corresponding to his age, and having elucidated it must be guided by it. And in the same way a similar time must come in the growth and development of humanity.
If we try to engineer outcomes, if we overturn tradition to make everyone the same, we ruin society. If we upset tradition to allow for an equal shot at the starting gate, everyone wins, except for the charlatans and would be dictators.
When economic structures and policies allow people to have access to capital, it releases a host of productivity that could humanize many bringing a greater flourishing to our society to the glory of God.
But we have created a society that does not allow opportunities for those people to take care of themselves because we have denied them those opportunities.
The money in the stabilization fund, $130 billion which I call an insurance bailout, is put in to try to cure the adverse selection that Obamacare created by making insurance too expensive. Healthy people didn't buy it. They tried to fix this by forcing young people to buy it through an individual mandate. Even that didn't work. So the way the Republicans fix it is they don't actually fix it. They subsidize it. So we have to fix what went wrong with Obamacare, not just recapitulate something that's broken.
Authenticity means that you must do what you do the way you do it and allow everyone else the same courtesy.
America can't work for only some people and become a dream for all people. It has to work for everyone. And even though everyone might not end up at the same place, if everyone starts with the same beginning, then that's the dream fulfilled. We all don't have the same abilities, but we should have the same opportunities.
I see it along our northern border - the importance of security must be balanced with humane enforcement policies that don't bully schoolchildren who are poised to contribute to our society.
When we arrive at dilemmas in life and we are unable to decipher the right direction to go, if we hope to maintain our confidence in the process, we must (repeat must) allow the Lord to be our Guide, our Strength, our Wisdom - our all!
You can’t focus on what everyone else is doing — it has to be about what’s really broken and what you can do to fix it.
