Most importantly, I strive for function above all in every house.
The key to success is to not take rejection personally, to know that having faith counts the most when we feel scared the most, that a delay is not a denial and that persistence above all else will prove to be a powerful ally. Oh - and most importantly - do what you LOVE.
Function is fundamental to design, of course. If something doesn't work, it's a bad product, and I certainly get frustrated by things that aren't functional. But there has to be more than function. A house has to function, but if that's all it does, you don't love it.

All of this defines who we are and gives us if you will our abilities to function as leaders. I believe all of those pieces constitute formal education - it is invaluable to who we are and how well we perform.

To experience poetry is to see over and above reality. It is to discover that which is beyond the physical, to experience another life and another level of feeling. It is to wonder about the world, to understand the nature of people and, most importantly, to be shared with another, old or young, known or unknown.
In more simple words, we might say everything in the universe is trying to become every other thing; and every condition of everything is trying to become every other condition.
