Often, you don't want to know too much, because it does affect your performance. When you're shooting a series for nine months out of the year, you don't want to anticipate too much, because you're going to work and you have to enjoy this thing too.
The major thing that holds you back when you're trying to change a bad habit like eating, smoking, or drinking too much is your belief you are out of control.
Taking drugs on a recreation level is one thing. But taking them while you're working on a stage is, I don't think it was that great. It's the control factor.
