A Quote by Hunter S. Thompson

North Vegas is where you go if you're a hooker turning forty and the syndicate men on the strip decide you're no longer much good for business out there with the high rollers.
Most people when they go to Vegas want to go to places on the Strip and experience the big names. Actually in Las Vegas, I find the best restaurants are off the Strip.
I tried to do a comic strip. I came close, and I met with Universal Press Syndicate in Kansas City, but ultimately, they did not go with my strip.
Any other town you go to there's this little devil and a little angel on your shoulder. A little good advice, a little bad advice. You go to Las Vegas, there's like a devil and a devil and they're just battling it out the whole time. It's like, "Smoke some crack!" "Get a hooker!" And then I go, "YEA! Yea, this is a good town. Smoke some crack and get a hooker! Alright!"
United Features had given me a development contract, which meant I was to work exclusively with them and rather than completing everything on my own and turning it in to them and having it rejected or accepted, I was working much more directly with the syndicate, turning in smaller batches much more frequently, and getting comments on them. The idea was that they would help me develop the strip and then, assuming that they liked it, it would flow into a normal contract for syndication.
When I first went to Vegas, there were just high-rollers and gamblers and the wise guys treated you great.
No one goes to Vegas for any sort of business. You go there to purely have fun, and as soon as you start getting in the vicinity, you feel the energy of the places. Normally as a DJ, I'm very much "working," even though I'm enjoying myself, but Vegas always brings out a little something extra in me. I've had my wildest nights there!
Las Vegas is a society of armed masturbators/gambling is the kicker here/sex is extra/weird trip for high rollers ... house-whores for winners, hand jobs for the bad luck crowd.
Look at the parts the Oscar-nominated actresses played this year: hooker, hooker, hooker, hooker, and nun.
There has been a black hole in the bar business in Las Vegas, particularly on the Strip in tourist areas.
I mean, what do you do in Las Vegas? You gamble - and you go to strip clubs.
You know I think if the people who work for a business are proud of the business they work for, they'll work that much harder, and therefore, I think turning your business into a real force for good is good business sense as well.
I always wanted to build something in Vegas, especially off The Strip. I know how it is for locals. They don't like going to The Strip for entertainment or even to eat.
I went to high school with girls that would daydream about what strip club they wanted to work at. That's one of the sad things about Vegas.
I grew up in Las Vegas. My mom worked in pretty much every casino on the Strip.
Here's why I think the public service jobs are almost unavoidable: When we have downturns in the economy - and we will, for we haven't repealed the business cycle - unemployment will build, yet we no longer have any safety net. What are we going to do? Unless we decide to pull out all the stops and lower interest rates immediately and risk turning a recession into wild inflation, we're going to have to figure out some way of providing some more, not job security, but employment security.
I don't have a high-powered life out of work. I like to go to the country for the weekend with the kids and the dog and play tennis. I am very good at turning off.
