I'm in the team to score goals. I try and score as many as I can in the season to help the team out.
There's kind of a cool feel that happens every now and then. I guess that feel is the thing that makes the score its own score. But, I don't know exactly what that is. So, it's hard for me to answer that question.
As a captain and as a player I wanted to lead the team well and score runs, because I know the team still depends on me very much.
If you've got a teammate around you, you know sometimes they're going to score, sometimes you're going to pass the ball or you won't win games - unless you're Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. And even then, they need a good team around them.
If the team needs to score, I'm going to score. If the team needs me to rebound, I'm going to rebound. Play defense, I play defense.
Going out on the field frantic isn't going to help you score points. You have to try to lead your team.
Some guys have to score more off the bench because that's what their team needs. But some other teams need someone that's going to assist or rebound. It all depends on what he brings to that team and how much it helps their win-loss record and how much they change their team.
I remember when I went to try out for the Olympic team in 1972, Coach Iba told me he didn't care how many points I could score because if I couldn't guard anybody, I wasn't going to make the team. I knew to make the team I had to become a better defender. If you can play offense, you can defend. It just comes down to competitive will.
A team championship doesn't happen because three people score 10s, it happens because all the guys score well. In my opinion, everyone deserved 10s, we're all 10s on this team.
My target is to score the most goals I can and assist my team-mates to score to.

Generally, you're going into every game with excitement. You know you're going to play forward and not going to defend. You're going to try to create and score goals.
I don't know how far, I don't know where I'm going to be or where I'm going to go, but I know this - if a team comes to grab me, I know they're going to get a special player, and I'm ready to show them what I can do and make sure I can contribute.
Two or three years ago, every game I want to score. And after I score a goal I have a spark and I'm so happy I want more. Now I'mkind of different. I'm not saying I lost my spark - I still have it - but I don't chase the goal as much as I used to. I'm playing for the team andI still know I can score, but it's different than two or three years back.Look at great teams like Detroit a couple of years ago; they winthe Stanley Cup and guys only score 25 goals, nobody has a really big season. You have to play defense, that's how you win.
Women want to know what's going on, whether it's the guys in the huddle the guys on the couch. One thing that's cool that I've seen as I've grown older is that women now think it is cool to enjoy sports and to sit there and talk the talk and know what's going on.
