I have turned off Google Alerts and don't Google my name or my pen names. I don't go on message boards. I don't read my book reviews.
I turned off my Google alerts in 2009 as I learnt that following yourself on the Internet very quickly becomes unhealthy.
My parents have Google Alerts on me. So they'll often times send me an e-mail and be like, 'Hey did you know this?' And then I'll be like, 'Well, it is, like, my life. So yes, I did know that.'
