The thrill of winning or losing, or getting on the field and coaching on Saturday afternoons, that's all great. But it's the association with the players, and that's lifelong. That is the one thing you miss and you can't substitute for it.
We've lost a lot of coaches around here, but the philosophy and the approach, the standards we have set and the expectations we have maintained have always been upheld from one year to the next.I attribute that to the great character of the players and the willingness of the coaches to not get influenced and get off-message and to get out of the way.
I've missed the association with players and coaches but haven't missed the recruiting and the travel.
I've been really lucky, played with a lot of great players, lot of great coaches.
It was a wonderful experience to play in the NFL, and I have no regrets. I truly will miss playing for the Lions. I consider the Lions' players, coaches, staff, management and fans my family. I leave on good terms with everyone in the organization.
I would like to accept this recognition on behalf of all the staff members that that I’ve been associated with; all of the office people behind the scenes who never get credit and make this game so great along with the great coaches and players.
Well, I think I've had the opportunity to be around some great coaches and players. And I have been able to learn a little bit, something different from every single one that I've been around.

I won't miss coaching. What you miss is that camaraderie with those boys and the other coaches. You miss that.
From the coaches on down, especially Jim Corsi whose been a great supporter, a true friend who really cares about his players and allowed me the chance to develop.
You always miss a great player, but I think the players on this team have taken a lot of pride in overcoming obstatcles when we have a player down ? not only the offensive players, but the defensive players. We were very fortunate that we played that well.
I had some great players, great coaches, the best organization in football.
Great football coaches have the vision to see, the faith to believe, the courage to do - and 25 great players.
Do I miss the players? Do I miss the smell of the stadiums? Do I miss the adrenaline that comes from being there? I miss that a lot.
I think coaches are very much guilty of trying to implement players into their schemes as opposed as trying to fit schemes into players. That's the thing that can separate good coaches from bad.
