A Quote by Jameis Winston

In college, I was up under this microscope everywhere I went. I couldn't go to class without somebody stalking me or asking me for something, an autograph or a picture.
Somebody wanted me to autograph her breast and I kindly refused. She was in college. I thought maybe I shouldn't do that.
Anytime somebody shares a personal story with me during autograph signings and someone comes up to me and shakes my hand and says thank you and I'm just like, wow. The fact that I can have an influence over somebody; it is heartwarming, it is the goal.
If someone comes up to me and asks for an autograph or picture, who am I to say no?
It is a surreal life living on a television series set, and especially when I go out in public. I have people who recognize me and will come up to me, saying how much they enjoy seeing me, asking for a picture, and I still think to myself, "Uh, why?"
I don't like to think that people recognize who I am when I'm out and about, and anyone who comes up to me in real life can testify that I suddenly clam up and get very nervous. People asking me for my autograph in H&M was beyond surreal.
Everywhere I go, somebody says something to me. It's really nice.
Everybody is constantly putting themselves under a microscope in terms of their productivity and their financial success and this whole idea of 'Picture Me Better,' like picture me, you know, who I'm supposed to be versus, you know, just accepting who we all are.
The thing that's caught me off guard is going to dinner and people asking me for autographs or to take a picture. People coming to my house asking for autographs - that's something I really haven't grasped the whole entirety of yet.

The part I hate is when we go out to eat. My youngest son, who's 11, doesn't like to eat in more fancy restaurants, so we often go out to places like Red Robin and such. Well, as you can imagine, in that kind of place I probably have to jump up about 10 times during a meal to take a picture with somebody or sign an autograph.
The selfie has become a new autograph, but it takes twice as long to do as a real autograph. I do it because I'm like, "What am I going to do, these people bought me my house." Why am I not going to take a picture with them except I always say, "You have to hold it up! Shoot down or it's really ugly if you shoot up!" So not only does it take longer, you have to teach them camera angles.
I don't know if I've ever had the autograph requests that I've had. It's hard to say no, especially when somebody's out there and they're asking. It would have been hard for me to hear no when I was a kid, so you try to make time and prepare for that, I guess.
What happened is I was going to college in 1950. L. A. City College. A guy I knew was going to an acting class on Thursday nights. He started telling me about all the good-lookin' chicks and said, "Why don't you go with me?" So I probably had some motivation beyond thoughts of being an actor. And sure enough, he was right. There were a lot of girls and not many guys. I said, "Yeah, they need me here." I wound up at Universal as a contract player.
Somebody will come up to me after a show and have me sign their arm, and the next time I see them my autograph has been permanently inscribed on their arm.
People are always asking me for pictures, signing autographs, everywhere I go. Before, it used to irritate me, but I've learned to handle the situation. I cannot run away unless I lock myself in my room and never go out.
The funny part is I feel like somebody is stalking me, like, at my local course and sizing up my game.
