When you start hitting some shots, you build some confidence.
I build confidence when I practice a variety of shots - hitting it high or low, working the ball. A lot of golfers go to the range and just hit full shots. That doesn't build on-course confidence, because you won't always hit full shots out there. My confidence is built on knowing I can effectively work the ball in any circumstance.
Some nights, depending on who you're going up against, some guys are just capable of hitting tough shots.

Confidence? Are you kidding me? I mean, please. Look, some players grow up and play like that. I remember losing junior matches. Just being down 5-2 in the third, and they all just start slapping shots.
The beautiful in life... Some talk of it in poetry, Some grow it from the soil, Some build it in a steeple, Some show it through their toil. Some breathe it into music, Some mold it into art, Some shape it into bread loaves... Some hold it in their hearts.
Most of the time when you're open that's when it's tough to make shots because you try to get some different focus than normally when some guys try to contest your shots.

If you have total freedom, then you are in trouble. It's much better when you have some obligation, some discipline, some rules. When you have no rules, then you start to build your own rules.
I'm not a guy that's going to shoot 10 3s a game - I like to get to the basket. But some of those shots I do gotta take. Some of those shots I gotta let fly.
Confidence, you have to build it when you play some matches.
All men have talents. Some build, some paint, some write, some fight. For me it is different.
Some players need it and some don't. Some have a little too much confidence. But bench players, guys in secondary roles, just need a shot of confidence all the time.
Being in the D-League, I might be able to get into a rhythm and start shooting the ball well and get some confidence and get some reps.
The first couple months, I was hitting the ball hard but had some awful, awful luck. You stay positive, keep grinding out some at-bats, get a couple to fall through, get a little confidence going and keep going from there.
The greatest step toward success is self confidence. The greatest builder of self confidence is self esteem, and self esteem comes from doing the daily things you know you should do. Your self esteem will start to soar when you make some critical decisions - decisions to walk a new road, to start a new direction, to start a new discipline.
When I am performing live, I walk into a room, and I just try to get a feel for the vibe, and I am coming from different angles musically. I might come with a new song, I might come with some hip-hop, with some R&B. Once I find my way, then I am hitting you, and hitting you all night.
