I have had some bad shooting games but that doesn't stop me from getting the ball to my teammates
I've had mental errors before while not shooting the ball well and while shooting the ball well, and vice versa. So I can't compound one on top of the other. It's just a matter of getting out of the groove of shooting bad and just staying more locked in.
I'm busy working on every aspect of my game - defense, shooting, rebounding - but I really want to become a better overall team player. Help my teammates become better players out on the court in order to win more ball games.
I feel like after my incident, it really made me realize football is not here forever. I'm all the more anxious to come out here and let my teammates know, 'Look, hey, this is the same JPP. Missing fingers aren't going to stop me from playing some ball.'
I think I'm a good enough ball handler to bring the ball up the basketball court, and my teammates do a great job of getting open.
I got into a bad habit of dropping my elbow and pushing the ball to the plate instead of getting on top of it and using some leverage to get it down in the strike zone or get some depth with the ball.
I just think repetition and getting the game reps shooting the ball in games really helps, rather than just practicing. You can get game timing.
I don't have anything to prove at all. I've pitched in a lot of games. I've had far more good games than bad games in the postseason. I know that some people may not remember that, for whatever reason.
Some ex-football players, or ex-teammates, they spoke to the media, and it looks like I am a bad boy or something, but I've never been a bad boy or had some problems at a club!
I was stealing the ball from all the guys. Every time they dribbled the ball, I used to take it, and I'd go down the court, and I'd either lay it up myself, or I'd pass it to one of my teammates. I was getting a lot of excitement from that; I felt good about doing that.
You're gonna lose some ball games and you're gonna win some ball games and that's about it.
Getting games with PSG was just a confidence booster for me. Coming into the national camp, I didn't expect to get as much game time as I'm getting. But I'm glad the coach has so much confidence in me to get me out there and get me some games.
It used to tear me up when we lost games, it stayed in me for weeks. I was a bad loser at everything. When we used to play board games, I had fights with my family and I had to go to my room.
I was always really good with the ball, I was always passing the ball, scoring, shooting the ball. I think for me, that's just a normal thing.
I suffer during games. We follow the action, kicking every ball, wondering if our centre-backs can stop the cross... In some ways, you enjoy it, but your heart is always thumping.
I'd rather play in the major leagues and have some bad games than play consistently good ball in the minors.
Inside the first 20 to 25 games of the season, we were losing these games, getting beat by two and three points. Over the last 10 games, it seems like we're starting to win these games and putting some good things together.
