You know, as a writer, I'm more of a listener than a writer, cuz if I hear something I will write it down.
When people ask me about my dialogue, I say, 'Don't you hear people talking?' That's all I do. I hear a certain type of individual, I decide this is what he should be, whatever it is, and then I hear him. Well, I don't hear anybody that I can't make talk.
I've written arrangements for choirs and strings in the past, but I usually write music with my voice or a keyboard and then I'll get someone who is good at writing scores to write it out. In workshops, writers are often told to read what is being written now, but if that is all you read, you are limiting yourself.
