When something comes to my mind, I finish a book within 15-20 days.
Don't say I want to lose 30 pounds in 30 days. Say, you know what I want to lose weight- say 30 pounds in three to six months for instance. But more importantly I want to knock out 20 pushups a day or I want to run a 3K a day and time myself, and try to beat my time every time every week.
Justin Lin is one of the most impressive people I've met professionally. I don't think he sleeps, or I think he sleeps 20 minutes every few hours during the night. Mostly, between shooting days, he was making rough cuts and other decisions with creative things on the Star Trek. In TV, you're basically shooting an episode in 10 to 14 days; 14 days is a luxury situation. And in film, you have anywhere from a month to three months, or it can be even longer than that, depending on what the production is.
