Worship is not music. We can certainly worship Him without musicians and without a song. And by the way, God does not actually seek worship. The Word tells us that He seeks worshippers. Instead of merely thinking about Him, we tell Him, in prayer and praise and song, how great and glorious we believe Him to be!
How do we find the Lord? I believe we have to seek Him in simple things. I believe we have to seek Him in personal prayer. I believe we must seek Him in personal service. I believe we seek and find Jesus when we follow His example.
The God we worship is Jesus - He is the image of the invisible God - and if we dare seek Him for who He really is rather than pursue an idea of Him that fits into our tidy boxes, He will blow our minds.
So many times we come to Jesus in worship and ask Him for things that He already IS and has already done... What a concept to come into worship knowing who we are approaching...the absolute fullness of God, pleased to dwell in this Jesus whom we worship. He's already broken the chains...already seated us with Him...already invited us 'into the glorious'.
Worship is so much more than the songs I sing. Instead, worship is in the heart that lifts the song. If you think about it, worship began when I woke up this morning. My life purpose is to give God glory through everything I do. If my life does not worship Him, my songs don't either.
When you love the Lord, you long to glorify Him and see the nations fall at His feet in worship. When you love your neighbor as yourself, you share the gospel with him and seek to meet his needs in every way you can, which includes seeing him fall at Jesus' feet in thanksgiving for salvation.
