Other people can think ahead all they want. I just focus on the task at hand and try to move on. — © Jeremy Renner
Other people can think ahead all they want. I just focus on the task at hand and try to move on.
As a woman I think we are capable of doing so many things. There is great ability to compartmentalise - to focus on the task at hand, do it well and then move on to the next one, while having another million things going on.
I don't think I'm stubborn. I just focus on the task at hand and do what it takes. Persistence is the single most important thing for success.

When you're in the field, you just focus on the task at hand.
I kept saying that I want to be a singer, singer, singer. Someone told me, "Noooo, you move as an actress!" I believe that happens to a lot of people. People have a multiplicity of gifts, but I think people in your life are telling you which one you should focus on. I just got done talking with my group of water walkers about this. You can't patent a move. It's challenging enough to come up with a move that nobody else does... I try and do things that I would want to see done that I haven't seen other people do. Most wrestlers obviously don't think that way, and instead they steal somebody's move as soon as they've gone on to the next company.
Scientists and academics in particular focus on detail and the minutiae. When they talk to each other, they usually don't focus on the broad ideas; they don't focus on social interconnectedness. They focus on the task that they're doing.
When you got a guy hanging over the cliff holding on with one hand, you don't want him to get his other hand up there, you want to go ahead and stomp on it
All you have in comedy, in general, is just going with your instincts. You can only hope that other people think that what you think is funny is funny. I don't have an answer but I just try to plough straight ahead.
I focus on the moment and move from task to task.
I think the right way to work is by focusing on each task at hand and then move forward.
What sets disciplined people apart? - The capacity to get past distractions. Focus on the task at hand.
The most important part of filmmaking is the collaboration and the ensemble element of it. If you just all focus on the task and the work and try and make the best film that you can then people will come.
I would never really analyse what I do. I leave that to other people - I'm not a critic. I just want to get on with whatever I have in hand, you know? Just try to make the best job of the available material.
I have to force myself to remember that if I can't do my job, people's stories won't get told, and that helps me to focus on the task at hand.
I simply find that as a songwriter, my goal is to try to move people. And I feel that before I can move other people, I have to genuinely be able to move myself.
