I want to release music that is true to myself. — © Jessica Sanchez
I want to release music that is true to myself.
I started music to be myself - to release and express - so I have to make sure that I'm staying true to me and making myself happy.
For me, I don't feel all the pressure. I make music, and I release it because I like it myself and I want my friends to hear it from me.
I would like to release an album that I truly believe in, thus it is hard to put a time limit on it. I want to really go deeper and discover myself again through music.
You can only release music so often. You have albums and the whole cycles and everything like that, so covers are a great way to release music and new things before the next album comes out.
You are not a helpless victim of your own thoughts, but rather a master of your mind. What do you need to let go of? Take a deep breath, relax, and say to yourself, 'I am willing to let go. I release. I let go. I release all tension. I release all fear. I release all anger. I release all guilt. I release all sadness. I let go of all old limitations. I let go, and I am at peace. I am at peace with myself. I am at peace with the process of life. I am safe.'
I just want to write fun, interesting music that pushes boundaries and is still true to myself. I want people to feel something.
It was important for the first piece of original music that I release to have a timeless feel because that's the type of music I want to make.
It's my sixth year in the game so I've been here for a while now. You can expect the best me you've ever heard. I don't have any release dates in mind right now but I'm just making music and enjoying myself in the studio and having fun. When I get to a place where I feel comfortable saying a date or all of that, people will definitely know. I have a few dream collaborations on that album that I want, but they say if you blow out your candle and make a wish you can't tell people what you ask for or it won't come true.
I want to be somebody, a person, first that people remember, but also, I want music that I release to still be around. I don't want it to just be cool for a second and be gone.
You know how a lot of people say, 'I lose myself in music,' or 'I like to escape,' but I want my music to be more of an awakening. I want it to make people to be aware of life; I don't want my music to be a distraction. I want to light a path.
I don't want to release a CD; I want to release the real deal, so we're just gonna take our time.
I always try to write a song, I never just want to write a record. Originally I was not writing songs for myself. ....And I can say this, most of the people who have recorded my songs are songwriters themselves. ... Even if I don't release it myself, somebody else might hear it and want to record it. When you write a song, it gives it that potential. When you write a song, a song has longevity. ... So I wanted to sing inspirational music, and that's exactly how I approached it-only the words have been changed to declare my relationship with God. Songwriting is my gift from God.
I want to release music that I like and feel comfortable with.
My biggest obstacle is trying to keep the music pure to what I want to release. I don't want any corporate suit telling me what story to tell.
I don't want to be a Hollywood star. I just want to do my job and enjoy it. My aim is to find my true identity and to remain true to myself.
I want to sell tracks but at the same time I want to stay true to the music I like. This is why I love the underground scene because they can stay true to what they want to do.
