So, we went from being an Athens band to being a Georgia band to being a Southern band to being an American band from the East Coast to being an American band and now we're kind of an international phenomenon.
I love people. I love being in a band. I love making music. I had to figure out that was way more important than being addicted.
It was great being together as a band, but much more difficult being brothers than it was being in a band.
I'm in a funny position: I've been in one band in my life and that was with my brother. As incredible as that has been, I feel like I'm missing out a little bit on being in a real rock band - or how I imagine being in a real rock band to be. It's like being in a street gang: you all wear the same leather jacket or whatever.
I love being in a band. I love playing with other human beings. I've never practiced drums unless there was another human being in the room.
I did not dream of being an entertainer in the sense of being the one out front. I dreamed of being in the band. As a child, I'm like, I'm going around the world, I'm gonna be in the band. That was my dream.
I love people. I love being in a band. I love making music.
I'm happy doing different things. Being in a band is great, but being in a band can be difficult sometimes.
I don't know if I have a favorite part of being an artist. I do love being onstage and performing with my band. I also love rehearsing with them and creating the show, that's always a fun part. But there's also nothing like being in the studio and being able to get back to myself and get back to my feelings.
We went from being thought of and talked about as "a band that plays a so-and-so style of music" (a grunge band, a stoner band, etc) to "a band that plays music with a certain sensibility or style to it". I'm not able to see quite what that is, but it's there and some people like it a lot.
One of the things I love most about being in a band is being with my friends.
I was in a rock band; I was my own folk singer; I was in a death metal band for a very short time; I was in a cover band, a jazz band, a blues band. I was in a gospel choir.
I never thought of us as a punk band, a metal band, or a new wave band. Just as a band band.
There's a good sarcasm and a camaraderie that comes after being in a band. And we've known each other forever. We've never been a band that fought or argued. As a songwriter, I'm really happy that the boys support me and contribute and that, but I've always wanted to be under the band Stereophonics.
I love the emotional symbolism of the eternity band as a wedding band. It's like wearing the infinity sign on your finger and represents the cyclical and enduring aspect of love.
I love being a gypsy and getting on the bus with the band making sounds for the people who love and enjoy a night of Americana and good times.
