I would INSIST this record is in NO WAY COLD influenced. Don't get me bent though, I have been a huge fan of Cold from day one. One of the best most awesome song writers. Kelly has in OWN sound, He recorded on the POINT OF ORIGIN Record so there, of course, will be something that familiarizes the Cold sound. But Allele is much heavier, and just kind of warmer, different techniques and a different sound all together. Allele I think is more intense.

It was three breakups going on at the same time. It was breaking up with my band, and my boyfriend, and right after that, my record label. I was arguing a lot with my record label during that whole time, so maybe they all affected each other. This record, Mondo Amore, came out of a time that was really heartbreaking and confusing, and that's why I switched the sound up a lot, to make it sound a little bit grittier and more raw.

I'm very lazy when it comes to making the original sound. I don't go through amplifiers and different compressors and signal parts. I just grab something, whether its an old guitar or a children's toy that happens to be lying around, and record it straight into the computer.
