I have improved with time by playing for elite teams in elite leagues and the Champions League and with the Spanish national team in World Cups and European Championships.
I don't think we should compare club teams with international teams because they are different cups of tea.
I am not an expert in this field but I do try to keep up to date with the Bundesliga. And I do follow World Cups and European Championships more closely.
I've won midget championships, a junior-league title, two World Junior Championships and some other minor-hockey championships, but I don't think teams win because I'm on them.
It's just the way we've chosen to deal with it. What's there to talk about The reality is that we're undermanned in a lot of areas. We're in the best league in the country. We don't have to read the paper to know that all the teams we play are quality teams.
When you look at the best teams, the teams that make a run at it, they're the healthiest teams.
When I was the coach at Mainz in the Bundesliga, a small club in Germany, we always wanted to play the big teams every two years, right after a major tournament, whether it was a World Cup or European Championships.
In every game, there's three teams out there. There's the two basketball teams and the team of officials. If the two teams are evenly matched, it can come down to number of possessions. If one out-of-bounds call goes the wrong way, that can be the difference.
No matter what anybody says, they cannot keep up with all 32 teams in the NFL, and certainly not 32 NFL teams and 100 college teams.
In Ukraine as well as in Brazil, Manchester City is now considered one of the best teams in the world, and after I signed, people back home in Brazil congratulated me for signing for one of the top teams in the world.
It's one thing if you're a part of teams that won five championships. But it's an extremely different argument if you're a big reason for those championships.
When you look at the last 20 years in the NBA, there have been seven teams that have won the NBA championship. Six of those seven teams drafted the number one or number two pick; their foundational people.
I don't agree that there are big teams and small teams in the Premier League. There are just a lot of good teams.
I always support Argentina. I watched a lot of the European Championships but wasn't supporting one team. I knew some players in a few of the teams and was just seeing how they played. It was nice for Ronaldo to win with Portugal.
I think there's a lot of different ways to win. You've seen teams that win championships with a super-duper star like Kobe Bryant. Those championship teams with Michael Jordan certainly had a great, great player.
The European leagues and teams are more competitive, very technical. It was good to work in Qatar - a good experience for me for the future. In the U.S.A., the teams and the players are improving every season.
