One of the things I'm concerned about is that I really want to make sure the races of all the characters are kept. I don't like it when black characters become white in movies, or things like that.
As soon as I get on the mic that's something you can't really match with me, so whenever I accompany Andrade to the ring I make sure that no matter what it was I was doing, I make sure that I was a part of it and to make sure that the moment you will remember when Zelina does a crazy thing.
Before you take the leap, before you jump, really make sure it's going to be something you want to get out of bed [to do] everyday, because it is so hard. So you want to make sure that you're really committed.
I really want my agent to make sure they write a part in the next Airbender movie for me. I'll be really upset if I don't get to be a waterbender or something.
The most fun characters to work with are characters that are complicated.
We want to make sure children aren't left without any books. We want to make sure our children have the books, that they have a place in the castle. We want to make sure that their mothers have affordable day care. We want to make sure we give the older people the care that they need.
I believe strongly that characters are five-dimensional, and they're complicated, and life is complicated, and people are complicated.
Tenancy laws can be so complicated; I want to make sure OP is protected as much as possible.
I love my job. It's such a privilege to be able to play such complicated characters. Growing up, I wanted to be a billion different things. I realized in order for that to happen, I don't have to be them all because the characters I want to play require such research and such a transformation to make that work - that's something that I love doing.
One of the most powerful lessons I learned is when you make an argument in a film, you have to make sure both characters are right.
The idea of being in a television series is a wonderful one to be considered, but you want to make sure it's the right thing for you because if you are fortunate enough to have something go for a long term, you want to make sure that it's something that you really want to be spending a bulk of your time on.
We want to make sure that we take care of people that most need healthcare, make sure they actually get healthcare instead of just an insurance policy that means they can't access the doctor they want.
Make sure your characters are worth spending ten hours with. That’s how long it takes to read a book. Reading a book is like being trapped in a room for ten hours with those characters. Think of your main characters as dinner guests. Would your friends want to spend ten hours with the characters you’ve created? Your characters can be loveable, or they can be evil, but they’d better be compelling. If not, your reader will be bored and leave.
We have to make sure as a staff, and I have to make sure as the staff learns, that we just really keep it simple. We get good at the fundamentals. And then, as we perfect that part of the game, now we can add on.
I love managing characters. Characters make teams and I believe I can deal with all sorts. The most important thing is being able to pass my knowledge on to others and allowing them to flourish as individuals and as part of a team with a specific strategy.
If you're about to get a tat, make sure you're 110% sure it's what you want. If you're getting it in a different language make sure it is exactly what you want it to be because there is no going back.
