I like to think I'll be quite instinctive as a leader. — © Joe Root
I like to think I'll be quite instinctive as a leader.
I think it's quite unlikely that I'll be the leader of the Green party going into a future election if it's on anything like a four-year timing.
Often, in a given project team or network, one sees leadership roles shifting among various members at various times. Attempts to fit these into traditional views of "leader" and "follower" don't quite work. It's more like Twitter: the "leader" has "followers" - but the "followers" are empowered to alter the relationship unilaterally, and the "leader" must continually earn the consent of the "followers."
I think I'm probably just an old-fashioned Tory. I don't wake up each morning trying to figure out what kind of Conservative I am; for me it's quite instinctive.
I can get onstage and cut that off and be superinstinctive. To be a good live performer, you have to be instinctive. It's like, to walk in the jungle, or to do anything where there's a certain tightrope wire aspect you need to be instinctive. And you have to be comfortable at it also.
It is the solemn obligation of a leader always to be a leader. Even when - perhaps especially when - you don't feel like being a leader.
The best acting is instinctive. It's not intellectual, it's not mechanical, it's instinctive.
Am I reserved? I think I agree with that. I don't think I'm particularly original. I am quite homey, though. But then I'm also quite transient. I quite like being nomadic.
I think I spent the first many years of Pinterest trying to be a really good leader, like what I thought a good leader should be.
I think I'd be quite good at Builder, like designer, construction... I've always liked making things. I'm quite good with my hands. So I think I'd be quite good at designing new inventions.
My career is not well thought out. Every choice has been instinctive and, quite literally, impulsive in many ways.
Being extremely honest is quite funny. But there's no recipe or concept that I can bring up that fully defines what we find humorous. It's instinctive.
I'd like to think I've become a better leader, first and foremost, a more vocal leader on the court. More of a playmaker, a more all-around player.
There is no good leader. First of all, if you think you are a leader, you are just messed up in your head. People should think you are a leader. If you think you are a big success, again, you are messed up. Other people should think you are a success.
I always like to do quite a lot of homework; I quite like to do the research. If I didn't do this, I think I would like to be a researcher.
I think a lot of people, when the word leadership is used, they think of it as quite forceful and quite a rigid thing. I think people think I am like that. But people can lead in different ways.
You are told before coming to Europe that big teams here quite often rotate players. I respect this culture but it is instinctive for me to get annoyed if I don't play every game.
