We do not let slip from our understanding that America was founded on a bonding of many people, from many places and of various color and religion. — © John Carter Cash
We do not let slip from our understanding that America was founded on a bonding of many people, from many places and of various color and religion.
The one eternal religion is applied to the opinions of various minds and various races. There never was my religion or yours, my national religion or your national religion; there never existed many religions, there is only the one. One infinite religion existed all through eternity and will ever exist, and this religion is expressing itself in various countries in various ways.
America's founding fathers did not intend to take religion out of education. Many of the nation's greatest universities were founded by evangelists and religious leaders; but many of these have lost the founders concept and become secular institutions. Because of this attitude, secular education is stumbling and floundering.
In my opinion, you start messing with what this country was founded on, and our baseline is what we call it, it opens up too many - too many doors. You start messing with that, people can say religion kills people. So, let's start messing with that.
It places value on experience versus intellectual understanding. I saw a lot of people contemplating things but it didn't seem to lead to too many places. I got very interested in people who had discovered something more significant than an intellectual, abstract understanding.
We come from Spain, from Barcelona. We could perform in many places around the world, and it's been amazing to bring our music to so many people in so many different places. That's been amazing.
The people that say diversity is the reason for the greatness are purposely assaulting the United States as founded. They want you to believe that America was only great for a few people as founded, because, as founded, America was gigantically discriminating against the poor and against people of color and against transgenders. Yeah, I've read the Federalist Papers, you know. James Madison, he wasn't popular with the transgender group back then. Did you know that? You won't find the word. It was not a factor, the way they have attempted to modernize things here today. It's just lies.
Islam is the fastest-growing religion in America, a guide and pillar of stability for many of our people.
America was founded by religious people; devout people who came here because they wanted freedom of religion, It's what made America different from every other country.
America wasn't founded as a theocracy. America was founded by people trying to escape theocracies. Never in history have we had a Christian theocracy where it wasn't bloody and barbaric. That's why our Constitution wisely put in a separation of church and state.
Introspection is a devouring monster. You have to feed it with much material, much experience, many people, many places, many loves, many creations, and then it ceases feeding on you.
I would like the Supreme Court to understand that voting rights are still a big problem in many parts of our country [America], that we don't always do everything we can to make it possible for people of color and older people and young people to be able to exercise their franchise.
As I lived on in America, I got to truly know the people of this country - so many kind and wonderful people, people of so many races - who helped me in so many ways. Who became my friends. I realized that underneath our different accents, habits, foods, religions, ways of thinking, we shared a common humanity.
My music comes from many, many, many places. My emotions, my feelings, my thoughts, and conversations I have with people I know who influence me.
There are many, many different kinds of intersectional exclusions - not just black women but other women of color. Not just people of color, but people with disabilities. Immigrants. LGBTQ people. Indigenous people.
But still as compared to many, many orchestras in the world, I think you find a lot more new music and living composers on our programs than many other places.
The reason why we find so many dark places in the Bible is, for the most part, because there are so many dark places in our hearts.
