My favorite thing is watching people watch The Hollars movie and then come up to me and say whether they went through an experience like that or they went through an experience nothing like that, but it still was their mom or "that was my brother" or whatever it was - that's great.

I started acting when I was five years old. I found it randomly, through listening to my brother study monologues. I don't really get that nervous about whether people like it. You can't do anything about that. It's more technical. You spend two years of your life obsessing, picturing sound details, and you work so hard to make a movie a certain way, that you get there, and you're like - is it loud enough or whatever, so that this experience with everybody in this room is the fairest chance I can get. And then if you like it, cool, and if you don't, whatever.
I'm happy when people come up and say how they feel about what your character went through, you know, I went through and it's helping me deal with it. I get to see the movie through the audience's eyes and that's really gratifying.

He's my father whether I like it or not - he helped give me life. So I still love him and everything. Sometimes I wished he was with me, and other times I didn't.
