I'm very encouraged by millennials and their drive to make the world a better place.
I think different societies, cultures, individuals, teams of people, make the world a better place. The founding fathers, they made New England, they made those 13 colonies. I don't know if they thought they were changing the world or just changing their world, but they did make the world a better place. Doctors that cure patients or cure diseases or make discoveries, they're making the world a better place. Can I make the world a better place by selling underpants? Not really. That's just the means. That gives me resources to try to make the world a better place.
Having traveled across America and to 24 counties as the first-ever UN Youth Champion, I’m inspired by the desire of young people everywhere to make the world a better place. At GimmeMo’, our goal is to build a global community of enlightened young people — those who wish to be the change they wish to see in the world, to borrow a phrase from Gandhi — and to raise awareness surrounding some of the biggest challenges that Millennials face both in the U.S. and around the world.
I think one of things that Steve Jobs, in his own funny way, encouraged us to remember with those "Think different" posters of Gandhi and Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King was, "How do you make the world a better place?"
In my youngest days, the nuns at my grammar school drummed into us that we were in this world to make it a better place - not just for ourselves, but for other people, too. So from the very beginning, I've been driven by this idea that we have to make a difference, and it's one of the reasons I went into law in the first place.
Whatever the composition of a firm, if it is to do good business it should be a place where everyone is encouraged to progress toward complexity- or at the very least a place that does not make it more difficult to achieve personal growth.
I think about our planet. I mean how to make it a better planet. The global warming issue is a concern to me very much. Just make the world a better, happier place. It's our home. I'd like to see us do a better job of taking care of it.
I'm very aware that just driving blindly towards money won't get me anything. I drive blindly towards making the world a better place.
Heal the World, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race, there are people dying, if you care enough for the living, make a better place for you and for me.
I always say I want to leave this world in a better state than when I arrived, and I continue to live by that message. So I'm going to do what I can to make the world a better place but also just make sure that I'm happy as well.
Watch out for music. It should come with a health warning. It can be dangerous. It can make you feel so alive, so connected to the people around you, and connected to what you really are inside. And it can make you think that the world should, and could, be a much better place. And just occasionally, it can make you very, very happy.
Placing a halo around your own head by saying 'I am a pacifist' and 'I don't believe in using violent tactics' doesn't make the world a better place. It might make YOUR world better and YOU might feel better about YOURSELF, but it does NOTHING whatsoever for the victims.
I would just say that I could share what served me, which was trying to find the best material that I could possibly find and make it better. When other celebrities and sports stars, or people that are successful in another area, cross over into movies, they're always encouraged to bring that same tenacity and that same relentless drive that you had to make it. You have to apply that to acting.
To make the world a better place, see the world as a better place.
One of the things I admire most about millennials is they celebrate individualism, and their singularity is encouraged. To be different is to be cool as opposed to weird.
Will Generation X and the Millennials do a better job running the world than the boomers have? Let's hope so.
In the world of millennials we are running very strong .
