I get ideas for my books from people I know and what happens to them, from places I've been and what happens to me, and from things I read.
I'm a sucker for a funny script. And then, as soon as I don't wanna be, one comes along and grabs me.
Usually what happens is somebody grabs me and they always pull me off to the side. Nobody ever does it publically. They say, "I didn't want to be here." Or, "I don't usually like people like you." Or, "I didn't believe the things you actually talked about would work. I'm here to tell you that you converted me." That happens a lot.

Do you understand what this film is getting at? Do you know the tone that we're trying to get to?" And it was interesting.
I don't think comedy is something you learn. I think it's something that's either there or it's not. When I read a script, I have to see the funny, and if I can see it's funny, it helps me to be able to transmit that.
