So many kids dream about playing in the NFL. But I was 130 pounds in ninth grade. I looked around and didn't see any 130-pound wide receivers in the pros.
We've sent 130 men to death row to be executed in this country, at least 130 that we know of, who have later have been exonerated because they were either innocent, or they were not fairly tried. That's 130 people that we've locked down on death row. And they've spent years there.
As far as moving to 130, I got tired of waiting for the other champions, none of whom wanted to fight me. I'm hopeful that with the move to 130 lbs. will come better fights, particularly against the other champions, so we can make our dream of becoming undisputed champion.
I am the cash cow in the 130-pound division.
I moved up to 130 pounds hoping champions in this division were not cowards like those at 126 pounds. It looks like I was wrong.
For everyone who's a valedictorian, there's another 100 out there who weigh 130 pounds - and they've got calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert. Those people would be legalized with the same act.
I tried to do the impossible on paper -- beat the middleweight champ coming up from 130 pounds.
The overall physical demand that Iraq has is pretty amazing. It's 130 degrees, and the soldiers are carrying about 100 pounds of extra gear. It's a pretty rigorous schedule and routine for them.
I'm not going to be depressed about my career however it ends because I've met great people, I've played with great teammates, I've played for great coaches, and I've lived out a lifelong dream. But it wasn't just about a dream of playing in the NFL. It was about a dream of playing in the NFL and winning Super Bowl rings.
I remember when I first walked into an American locker room, and no one had ever seen a 130-pound wrestler before. Those guys thought I was such a joke.
I run into guys all the time that say, 'Me and my three buddies started fat shaming each other and we collectively lost 130 pounds.'
For every child of an illegal immigrant who's a valedictorian, there's another 100 out there who weigh 130 pounds and they've got calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert (http://takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/08/12/steve-king-still-stands-by-cantaloupe-comments/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0).
From the third grade, I knew that I wanted to play in the NFL. It's pretty cool to see the dream about to come to fruition, but it's just a starting point.
In 1979, I was in ninth grade. Before I started tenth grade, I was already rapping myself. I didn't wait around to see what hip-hop was doing before I jumped in; I did it immediately. When I first heard it, I said, 'I can do this.'
In ninth grade, I played wide receiver.
There are only two ways out for animals at pounds--being adopted or being killed. And cats have such a low rate of adoption that many pounds, even in some larger cities, don't bother to take them in at all. Not for nothing is it always the "dog pound" and never the "cat pound.
I can help someone grow their business 130% in 12 to 18 months only because I've done that with so many of my own and have faced so many challenges.
