A Quote by Jose Diaz-Balart

I`m not sure that Enrique Pena expected Donald Trump to take him up on his offer to come to Mexico and meet with him in the short period of time that there is between now and the elections.
I think that, when Enrique Pena Nieto invited Hillary Clinton and invited Donald Trump to meet with him here in Mexico City, it was a thought that maybe, in the future, whoever won the presidency, during that transition period, or right after, would decide to come and visit Mexico.
I don`t think Enrique Pena Nieto expected [visit]. I don`t think anybody expected it to be so quick, the response [like Donald Trump].
There is a lot of people just shaking their heads and wondering, what was really behind this meeting [of Donald Trump and Enrique Pena] as far as from the president of Mexico.
I don`t understand why President [Enrique] Pena has offered this opportunity. I think it`s nothing more than a political stunt. Trump is using Mexico, is using President Pena to boost his sinking poll numbers.
I think the best explanation is that he [Enrique Pena] threw the offer out there, and just like Hillary Clinton didn`t answer it immediately, still hasn`t, he didn`t expect [Donald]Trump to do it either.
[Donald] Trump met with Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto, who has in the past compared Trump`s rhetoric to that of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.
Here`s an interesting twist, though, President Pena Nieto later tweeting that he told [Donald] Trump in their private meeting that Mexico will not pay for the proposed border wall, Trump saying, though, in that press conference that it didn`t come up.
He [Donald trump] is not welcome to Mexico. By 130 million people, we don`t like him. We don`t want him. We reject his visit.
Donald Trump himself has an idiosyncratic speaking style that relies on simple words and phrases, which worked for him in the primaries but may be coming up short for him now.
I think Donald Trump is going to try as best he can to make sure that he delivers not only to the people who voted for him but for the people at large and the good thing is that there are going to be elections coming up so there's a built-in incentive for him to try to do that.
Donald Trump can have some advantage in negotiations. NAFTA is high on his agenda. But if he goes too far, I think the president of Mexico Enrique Pena and the Mexicans will decide they would just as soon get out of NAFTA, and we don't want that either. There may need to be some changes, but to re-imagine the entire world we have had an international order. It's not perfect, but for 70 years, it has kept Europe whole and free and safe, and we need to keep it in place.
Three of Donald Trump's kids have come forward to defend him, and called him 'an incredible dad and role model.' Donald was so moved that he wrote one of them back into his will. 'I'm not gonna tell you which one . . . it's Donald Jr.'
Donald Trump doesn't necessarily stay mad for very long. He's a transactional guy. If you can offer him something, he will take it. Or from a salesman's point of view, if he's not making the sale, you're of no use to him. But if you suddenly come back into the showroom and are willing to buy, he's willing to sell.
I've never quite been a peer of Donald [Trump]. When I knew him it was more in a social way. We were single at kind of the same time. You know having fun in that sense, but I've watched his career with great admiration, and now to really see him as an employee sees him as an aspirant within the corporate structure of the Trump enterprises is really fascinating.
I was 13 or 14 and I met Donald Trump at a bar mitzvah of a good friend of ours, who's friends with him. He had his girlfriend at the time with him, that Melania with him. He said, 'Hey guys, if you work hard and be successful, you'll get one of these.' I'll never forget that. And now he's married to her.
Donald Trump will be the next president, the 45th president of the United States. And it will be up to him to set up a team that he thinks will serve him well and reflect his policies. It takes a while for people to reconcile themselves with that new reality. Hopefully, it`s a reminder that elections matter. I think it`s important for us to let him make his decisions, and I think the American people will judge over the course of the next couple of years whether they like what they see.
