If I'm aggressive, scoring, that's going to open things up for everyone else. — © Jrue Holiday
If I'm aggressive, scoring, that's going to open things up for everyone else.
I'm not going to let everyone in, but when I do open up, I trust you. I let you fully in. My close friends, my family, and everyone around me can really appreciate it, and sometimes it's not the easiest to open up to people.
Explorers tend to be the aggressive types - why else would they risk scurvy, mutiny and other bad things to go out there? So, you could say that any aliens that are actually moving and interested in going somewhere are likely to be more aggressive. But who knows?
One night I'm going to have a big night scoring; some nights I'm going to have a big night doing other things. Just doing whatever it takes to win the ballgame, not necessarily sitting up here worrying about scoring 30 points.
If you are going to think the same as everyone else and do the same as everyone else, you will end up being the same as everyone else. In today's competitive environment you have to think a bit differently.
We have a very open culture at the company, where we foster a lot of interaction between not just me and people but between everyone else. It's an open floor plan. People have these desks where no one really has an office. I mean, I have a room where I meet with people. But it has all glass, so everyone can see into it and see what's going on.
But you're almost eighteen. You're old enough. Everyone else is doing it. And next year someone is going to say to someone else 'but you're only sixteen, everyone else is doing it' Or one day someone will tell your daughter that she's only thirteen and everyone else is doing it. I don't want to do it because everyone else is doing it.
What keeps you confident in a healthy way is knowing that everyone else around you is going to support you and teach you and you're going to learn from them. I just feel open to learning from people.
I like getting up when everyone else does and going home when everyone else does.
My theory is that I'm just closer to the sun than everyone else. I weigh more than everyone else, I'm taller than everyone else. When it's really humid and hot outside it's going to take a bigger toll on me.
If you stop me from scoring, and I don't do anything else, then I've not really played well, have I? You can't score every game, so what are you doing if you're not scoring?
I'm just trying to be aggressive. Be aggressive with my shot. Be aggressive going to the rim.
Well, capitalism is going to grow and grow. The nature of it is that the guy who has the most poker chips on the table has more leverage than everyone else. He can eventually outbluff everyone else and outraise everyone else at the table. That's what has happened and it needs to be corrected.
An aggressive drug-testing program would cut down on certain abuses, but its never going to catch everyone - or even close to everyone.
The key word is 'control.' I have to get to the point where I can do it like Magic does. That means penetrating, scoring more, taking over on offense once in a while, increasing my range on the outside shot to open things up for the drive.
Everyone works hard for each other, and if we're having an off day, everyone else is there to pick things up.
I asked myself, 'What are you going to do with your life? Are you going to be like everyone else or are you going to do what's right?' I just made a decision. I said, 'It's time to grow up. It's time to start living for the Lord, do things the right way.' I accepted the Lord, and it changed my life.
