Whether the author intended a symbolic resonance to exist in her book is irrelevant. All that matters is whether it's there. I am not a "Christian author." I am an author who is a Christian. While my books reflect my faith, they are not intended as teaching tools for a Christian audience per se. My books are stories created around principles that work for everyone and they work every time.
