I do come shackled with whatever people think I am.
Everybody wants freedom. You don't want to be shackled, especially as an artist. Nobody wants to be shackled, at the end of the day.
Whatever is happening, whatever is changing, whatever is going or not going according to my plans - I release my hold on all of it. I leave behind who I think I am, who I want to be, what I want the world to be. I come home to the great peace of the present moment.
I never deny poems when they come; whatever I am doing, whatever I am writing, I lay it aside and attend to the arriving poem.
