I am seeking that dance which might be the divine expression of the human spirit through the medium of the body's movement.

Don't worry about locating your purpose. If you are seeking after God, your purpose will locate you.
The Bible has a very meaningful expression: The Spirit makes all things new. We are those who grow old, and we want everything done to our aged standards. The Spirit is never old; the Spirit is always young.
Instead of viewing God as one who helps me accomplish my purposes, it is now my joy to help God accomplish the divine purpose - seeking the best for others and seeking the growth of the beloved, which is to say everyone.

I think expression is the one word that I would use, whether it's for sorrow, tragedy, joy, or even the need to express and be heard.
Substance must emanate from spirit and is nothing else than the record of the spirit's conception of itself finding expression in space and time.
If you can tune into your purpose and really align with it, setting goals so that your vision is an expression of that purpose, then life flows much more easily.
