My first priority is my children, and when Brielle's grades were failing, I made it a big, big deal!
I think the big mistake in schools is trying to teach children anything, and by using fear as the basic motivation. Fear of getting failing grades, fear of not staying with your class, etc. Interest can produce learning on a scale compared to fear as a nuclear explosion to a firecracker.
A baby's existence for the first three months is a one-way street. One person is doing all the work and the other is crying, sleeping and pooping. So the first moment when you're actually able to do something and they acknowledge your presence, that's a big deal. A very big deal.
Christmas means a great deal to me. I was reared in a family that celebrated Christmas to some extent, but I married into a family that celebrated Christmas in a big way. And my wife always made a big thing of Christmas for the children. We have five children, and we had a terrific time at Christmas.
Korean children get a lot of fuss made over them, I guess because life was tough in the old country, and it was a big deal if you survived. There's a big party thrown when you are 100 days old, followed by another when you make it to one whole year.
I believe that Brexit, whether it's a bad deal or no deal, is a big deal - too big for anyone to ignore - but it's not a done deal.
Big Bird was the biggest star, I mean, children's favorite for a number of years. I have a 22-year-old granddaughter whose first words were 'Big Bird.'
Despite what some people think, I never asked to leave. I'd just been made captain of Leeds which in my eyes is a big, big deal.
But I think bands that rolled in with a big attitude, like they were some big deal, I just found that very strange.
I made history here by landing the first triple axel for a U.S. lady, third at the Olympics, and that's a big deal.
You are what you think. So just think big, believe big, act big, work big, give big, forgive big, laugh big, love big and live big.
Elia Kazan - the films he made were such a big deal for me when I was growing up.
First, it was a big deal for girls to dress more like guys. Then it was a big deal for straight men to be metereosexuals and care about their appearance in the way that a gay man would. Now we have to take it a step further - men should be able to not wear men's clothes if they don't want to.
I gather most people don't remember that when the U.S. Open first went to Pebble Beach in 1972, a big deal was made of the Open going to a public course for the first time.
My work has never been about me, and I've never made a big deal about my race. I've actually tried hard to avoid ever making a big deal out of it and have, instead, simply tried to do good work that matters.
If you are still in school, do not neglect your grades. Internships and other activities are fine, but when legal employers have to decide who to interview, grades play a big role in determining who makes that cut and who doesn't.
Winning two in a row doesn't seem like a big deal, but when you haven't done it in three months, it's a big deal.
