A Quote by Krzysztof Penderecki

I'm not a minimalist, not at all. I feel much better, safer even, having a large piece. — © Krzysztof Penderecki
I'm not a minimalist, not at all. I feel much better, safer even, having a large piece.
It looks like you can write a minimalist piece without much bleeding. And you can. But not a good one.
I'll never be a minimalist. The fact that the prose is more tightly controlled doesn't for a minute mean that it's minimalist. I very much like arcane words and baroque sentence structure.
The injustice I feel when my kids drag me out of bed by 6 most mornings is tempered and possibly even erased by the happiness I feel when eating a thick piece of whole-grain toast with a shamelessly large cup of coffee.
I never feel that my music is sparse or minimalist; the way fat people never really think they're fat. I certainly don't consider myself minimalist at all
I never feel that my music is sparse or minimalist; the way fat people never really think they're fat. I certainly don't consider myself minimalist at all.
"Light Over Water" is the longest piece I have ever composed. It is a landmark in my personal struggle to create large forms. I feel that it is by and large a formally successful work, though I was constrained to write a piece at least fifty minutes long, and there are some dead spots in the music where I think I was simply marking time. However, I think when the dance is in motion, the formal problem is nonexistent.
I like to wear jewellery, even though I like my look to be minimalist. When I go out for events, I like to have at least one statement piece. It always adds glamour.
We got broken into our house three times in five years in L.A., so I wanted to find somewhere where I feel safer, and where my whole family would feel safer.
I quit smoking. I feel better. I smell better. And it's safer to drink out of old beer cans laying around the house.
I really do feel like I'm in better shape and look better now - even after having three kids - than I did before.
The better the actor, usually the safer you feel working with.
There are secrets I will take to the grave and others I'd feel safer having cremated.
It's better to have a small diamond than a large piece of glass.
I resisted using EHRs while an internist in Boston, as I wrote in my blog, ‘Why Be a Meaningful User.’ Over time, however, I found that working with health IT made me a better and safer physician. Most importantly, my patients received better, safer care and improved outcomes.
It is easy to be inspired by history when you're living in a part of it and allow that to seep into your writing: having said that, a minimalist room with no distractions is often better; the most exciting visions should already be in your head.
What attracted me about my mirrors was the idea of having nothing manipulated in them. A piece of bought mirror. Just hung there, without any addition, to operate immediately and directly. Even at the risk of being boring. Mere demonstration. The mirrors, and even more the Panes of Glass, were also certainly directed against Duchamp, against his Large Glass.
