A Quote by Kunal Khemu

As a child working in films was like a hobby but now it has turned into a profession. And with that, it's become a life that's full of pressure and nervousness about Box Office results, competition.
I love writing and making films. What started as a hobby ultimately turned into my profession.
OTT platforms have taken away the pressure that would plague films earlier... the pressure of box office, the number of screens it will be played in, what kind of stars it has or even the pressure of censorship... This is a really big deal.
At times I do feel that there is some issue with child actors because in all my films my performance has been appreciated but the films have not created magic at the box office.
Films have been my only passion in life. I have always been proud of making films and will continue taking pride in all my films. I have never made a movie I have not believed in. However, though I love all my films, one tends to get attached to films that do well. But I do not have any regrets about making films that did not really do well at the box office.
I've been able to make some wonderful films, but sometimes you make films with great passion - great belief - and these films slightly don't work at the box office, and they become your favorite films.
After so many years of rejection, I felt acting would have to become a hobby rather than a full-time profession.
We shot many films in Delhi that turned out to be successful at the box office. So the attachment is definitely on the positive side.
Pressure to me now has become almost part of my life. It doesn't really affect me anymore. People talk about me being under pressure or having pressure of having to come in and be this great player that everyone expects me to be right away. It doesn't really faze me. It's become second nature now. It's almost like it would be weird not to have it.
Films of stars as well non stars are working at the box office. People look out for content driven films.
The effort always remains that my new film outdoes my last in terms of performance and gets better box office success. Box office is the sole reason why I do films.
Whenever we actors become part of a Bollywood film, there is a certain pressure of earning a box office success.
I'll be working the rest of my life because I'm a character actor and don't have to worry about box office.
I find that it's a very odd thing to think of competition when you're talking about what I still think of as art. I don't think of competing with actors or filmmakers at all. You do compete, in a way, at the box office, but we're far enough apart when both films are coming out that I'm not concerned with that either.
I feel like I've mastered what nervousness is, and simply, nervousness is, fearing the future. Or, I like to put it as, thinking about things that you don't want in the future. Normally, artists may think, 'What if my show doesn't go well?' Boom. That's going to cause nervousness.
I didn't know box office was a thing you could possess but I don't have it. I go up for lovely roles and people with this nebulous thing called box office get them so there isn't much I can do about that unless you know where I can get some box-office myself!
The Beach Boys was a family hobby that we turned into a profession. We're very blessed.
