I have always believed it is not enough just to wear the silver fern and I do not regret pushing myself to try to deliver my best possible performance.
The mana of the silver fern comes from all of you and I will wear it with pride.
For me, I always try and deliver. Regardless of the situation, I always try and play hard every time I step out on the court. If I don't deliver and play well, then I know I haven't been working hard enough.
I've been known to wear pajamas onstage for the sole reason of wanting to make sure I'm free enough to execute new things vocally onstage and give my best performance possible.
Do the best work you can do and try not to worry about the fact that you are a woman covering the NFL and you have never played the sport before. Just focus on the story and study, prepare and deliver the best report possible.
Pushing myself against my own will really, because some of this stuff is hard. I don't consider myself to be a great guitar player, so pushing myself as a guitar player or pushing myself as a singer, as a performer, and just riding that fine line between being so hard on yourself that it's counter-productive and being so hard on yourself that nothing is ever good enough is what drives me.
That's always been my philosophy: I try to just be as straightforward as possible, and then I don't really have to question what I said or regret anything.
I always try to do as much as I can do. I'm never a person that does not enough, because I'd regret not doing enough and think I probably could have done more. I probably go too far and have to reel myself back in, which works in some things, and other things it doesn't work.
One of the things I try to do - and I always regret when I'm not doing it - is I try to read as much as possible as I'm consuming news.
It is not always possible to be the best, but it is always possible to improve your own performance.
The thing is I always believed in myself. I always believed that I was going to be the best in the world.
Our performance during this World Cup has not been enough to progress further and both myself and all the players regret that and are hurt more than people realise.
I've never really considered myself as being the best bodybuilder. I always try to let the people decide that. I just try to do the best I can do at whatever it is that I'm doing.
I'm not one of the guys who talks a lot, I don't enjoy that, I've always believed in just going out there and putting on the best show possible.
I just want to send the best message possible to women. And I'm just so thankful because I honestly never thought I could model. I've always been told I wasn't tall enough, I wasn't thin enough.
Somehow, you need to cling to your optimism. Always look for the silver lining. Always look for the best in people. Try to see things through the eyes of a child. See the wonder in the simplest things. Never stop dreaming. Believe anything is possible.
I just stay focused, and I always think about gymnastics. I am just doing what I always do... working really hard and pushing myself to the maximum and keeping myself motivated.
