I've always used a mallet putter on tour. I get too much face rotation with a blade.
A conventional blade has more toe hang so that's for people who want to rotate the face more. I'm not that person. I don't have a strong arc to my stroke so the mallet works better for me.
If I'm in the rotation, I'm in the rotation. If I'm not, I still will support the guys like I am in the rotation. But when I do get my turn, I definitely will make the best of it.
When you're on tour too much or on stage too much, you feel like you have to deliver and get this super-hyped vibe going.
The old actors in the old days, they used to go on tour, to get the play ready for the West End, and to learn their lines. The old timers used to say, "Be very careful, dear boy, what you get in to during the first weeks of a long tour."
After shows my face feels dirty with makeup and sweat, especially in the smaller venues, so it feels good to get back to the bus and smooth it away. Sometimes you need something alcohol-based, especially on tour when you don't always get a chance to keep washing your face all the time.
I have always smoked and drunk and loved too much. In fact I have lived not too long but too much. One day the Iron Crab will get me. Then I shall have died of living too much.
A lot hinges on the fact that, in most circumstances, people are not allowed to hit you with a mallet. They put up all kinds of visible and invisible signs that say, 'Do not do this' in the hope that it'll work, but if it doesn't, then they shrug, because there is, really, no real mallet at all.
On tour, you never have a home, you don`t get used to anything, and you`re always super busy.

If you want to go all the way in the Champions League, you're always going to face Barcelona, Real and Bayern Munich in rotation.
In that, Blade 2 is very much like a rock concert... if it's too loud, you're too old.
You just do the best you can. It doesn't necessarily mean that you have to get worse the more you do it. It can get better, I think... aspects of it, anyway. I mean, I don't write as much as I used to. But I don't do a lot of things as much as I used to. So that's the natural order of things, too. You're more or less living in the present. You're just trying to get that next song, whatever it is. And not think too much about what happened on the last record, or the record you made 20 years ago, because those are over with. Those are done.
It took a while for the first 'Blade' to get made, and Marvel decided they liked the Whistler character so much, when Blade guest starred on the 'Spider-Man' cartoon, they put Whistler on the cartoon, and the movie hadn't come out yet.
There are those who say that trees shade the garden too much, and interfere with the growth of the vegetables. There may be something in this:but when I go down the potato rows, the rays of the sun glancing upon my shining blade, the sweat pouring down my face, I should be grateful for shade.
I just never subscribed to the theory that at age 55, you fall off the face of the earth on the Tour...I always felt that was too young of an age for that.
