People from outside don't know how difficult it is to be goalkeeper.
The role of a goalkeeper is difficult to judge, above all if you haven't been a goalkeeper. It's like me giving an opinion on someone's job without having had any experience in their sector. You start to realise how many stupid things are said and written about goalkeepers.
When I was nine or ten, I had a chat with my coach and I asked if I could play in goal. I started playing as a goalkeeper and it was love at first sight. Only a goalkeeper knows how it is.
I can see what goes on defensively in a game, but 80 or 90 yards away, you can have no idea about the attack or how someone scored. I guess it's once a goalkeeper, always a goalkeeper.
I know I am coming to a big club with a very good goalkeeper. City already have a great goalkeeper in Joe Hart, but I will try and compete for the No. 1 spot.
People outside the organization or outside of football, they don't know how hard it is to win in this league, such a high-caliber athletes and elite group of people competing each week.
It's very difficult to judge relationships from the outside. You never know what happens in intimate moments with two people to know why they really support and love each other.
There's a difference between a young goalkeeper and an experienced goalkeeper. In a pressure situation, an experienced goalkeeper can handle the situation in a calm manner.
It is difficult to love people; even when you do love them, it is difficult to know how - how to express it.
There's no school that you can go to and learn how to be a "Daily Show" correspondent and how to interview people and, you know, essentially leave your soul outside the door and go in there and kind of, you know, destroy people's lives sometimes.
Beyond remembering me as a good goalkeeper or a bad goalkeeper, I just hope that people remember me for being a good person.
Other than hitting the ball...there's nothing else I have ever done or know how to do. How to live on the outside, how to earn a living, how to take of my family, I'm a stupid idiot who doesn't know how to do any of that. Therefore...Please let me play baseball.
It's difficult to love a goalkeeper. He is invisible, and is only in the limelight when he makes a blunder.
Outside of the gay world, I don't know how many people know me.
The goalkeeper position is not an easy one. You can only speak about it if you are a goalkeeper yourself.
Being a goalkeeper gives you quite a unique perspective on things. You are part of a team yet somehow separate; there are no grey areas, with success or failure being measured in real time; and you have a physical job which you can only do well by paying attention to your mental well-being. A great goalkeeper has to have the keys to a great mindset. To be able to work well in the box, I believe you have to be able to think outside the box
It's very easy for people to overlook how important a good goalkeeper is in a team.
