You'll never see me at award ceremonies. — © Marco Pierre White
You'll never see me at award ceremonies.
I go for a couple of parties; you won't find me at every film party and never at award ceremonies. I tried attending for the first three to four years, and I've performed at award shows. I sat in them, and I've also exited pretty fast from them. It's just not my place. I'd rather get their adulation in a cinema hall.
Though I was nominated for awards for films like 'Tezaab' and 'Apna Sapna Money Money' but I never won an award. Now I am not even nominated for any awards but still I attend the award functions as I love being there despite figuring prominently in a lot of leg pulling that goes around in the award ceremonies.
Apart from the National Film Awards, I don't see any other award ceremony that I should give value to. My personal experience about these award ceremonies is that I don't trust them. I have no faith in them so I would prefer to stay away.
Award ceremonies are strange because you're sitting next to someone you've never met; you're celebrating with a total stranger.
I don't like award ceremonies.
An award, to me, means a bonus. It's not that an actor works for an award. I don't work for an award. But, when you get an award, it is encouraging and inspiring and reminds you that you need to do well.
I never won any award, ever, except for a Houston Press award, but other than that, I never won an award.
I handle screenings and award ceremonies really badly.
I don't like going out or attending award ceremonies.
This is a big surprise I don't agree with the concept of award ceremonies, but I'm prepared to make an exception for the ones I'm nominated for. The last time there was a naked man covered in gold paint in my house, it was me.
Bollywood is a great place. You can expect support for award ceremonies, weddings, and funerals.
I don't do social events, I don't do award ceremonies, I don't do charity dinners. I live my life off-radar.
I received the Media for Liberty Award from Swedish PEN, and the prize was awarded by the Swedish minister of culture, who also happens to be the minister of sport. When she handed me the award, I said, Thank you, it's wonderful to be recognized, but we journalists always want more. So madam minister, I have a personal favor to ask you: Do not go to Sochi. And she announced that she was going to Sochi, but she's not attending the ceremonies, for political reasons. It's a very pointed stance.
I have never won a single award - National or Filmfare - and I just hope they don't give me a Lifetime Achievement Award because I won't accept it.
I go to award ceremonies, but I always like to be in my world. That's the only place I can control where I won't get upset.
The (Academy Award) ceremonies are a two-hour meat parade, a public display with contrived suspense for economic reasons.
