Once that cage shuts, I'm the one in control of my destiny. — © Matt Serra
Once that cage shuts, I'm the one in control of my destiny.
I can always hear my fans shouting for me and I always get goosebumps walking to the cage wherever I fight. But once the cage door shuts I forget everything else around the world and I focus.
The wild thing is that when I'm in the band, I can control my destiny with four other guys. As a composer sitting in the audience, you can throw good vibes at everybody, but you can't control anybody's destiny, so it's really unsettling.

The Hell of Regret He who wins the race cannot run with the pack. And once you get out you can't come back, because caged lions don't mate with free ones! If ever you are going to win, you must forsake the social construct of the cage and all the cage dwellers.
When a captive lion steps out of his cage, he comes into a wider world than the lion who has known only the wilds. While he was in captivity, there were only two worlds for him - the world of the cage, and the world outside the cage. Now he is free. He roars. He attacks people. He eats them. Yet he is not satisfied, for there is no third world that is neither the world of the cage nor the world outside the cage.
Once you realize there is a Higher Power, you know you're not alone, that you have a purpose on the planet. You control your destiny instead of letting the day lead you where it may. You seize it, take it and lead it.
I'm wearing three hats; I'm acting, producing, and directing. I was very involved in developing the script, too. But to me, that is very liberating. To me, the lower the budget, the more I want to be involved. I want to be more in control of my own destiny when there isn't much money involved, because you don't have the experts who can control your destiny.
I can't control my own income, I can't control my own destiny, I can't even control my own farm if I'm a farmer. This is not going to last.
Grace puts its hand on the boasting mouth, and shuts it once for all.
Once we repossess a sense of our own holiness, we will recover the sense of the holiness of the world... Only in this way will we once again become aware that our destiny and the destiny of nature are one and the same.
We can't control our destiny, but we can control who we become.
