Whenever I get a task I can focus on, I get excited for that. — © Maya Moore
Whenever I get a task I can focus on, I get excited for that.
You give your all to the task and hopefully that's enough but sometimes things get taken out of your hands and one way or another you have to accept it and get on with it and focus on the task at hand.
I never take anything for granted. I think it's very cool to still get excited about things. I get as excited now as I ever did when I get a chauffeur driven car pick me up and I stay in a fantastic hotel or get to fly in a private plane. I never want to get blasé.
Whenever I audition for something, if I get excited about the project I'm totally committed to it from that point on. But it can also be a long process, so when I eventually get given the part it's then that I realise that I've actually got to do it and here comes the work!
I do get nervous and excited whenever I do a film.
I try to relax and enjoy it. I don't really get nervous, I get excited! I love training, but my main excitement comes from when I'm racing and the better the standard of people I'm racing, the more excited I get and the more 'up for it' I get.
There are some nights where I don't get enough sleep, or we're traveling a lot. And then I'll go do a radio show, and the DJs are usually so energetic. And they're like, 'Why aren't you excited?' I say, 'I am excited. I'm just Swedish. This is my excited. I can't get to an American excitement level.'
The way to get to the top of the heap in terms of developing original research is to be a fool, because only fools keep trying. You have idea number 1, you get excited, and it flops. Then you have idea number 2, you get excited, and it flops. Then you have idea number 99, you get excited, and it flops. Only a fool would be excited by the 100th idea, but it might take 100 ideas before one really pays off. Unless you're foolish enough to be continually excited, you won't have the motivation, you won't have the energy to carry it through. God rewards fools.
We focus on performances that can get our fans excited.
All you can do is focus on the task at hand and if you keep doing that it will get you through.
Don't let the company get distracted or excited about other things. A common mistake is that companies get excited by their own PR.
I'm just a big kid; I get excited. That's probably the one thing in life that I get really excited about is cars.
Whenever I overhear someone talking in Telugu, be it in the market or any random place, I get excited.
What sets disciplined people apart? - The capacity to get past distractions. Focus on the task at hand.
Scientists and academics in particular focus on detail and the minutiae. When they talk to each other, they usually don't focus on the broad ideas; they don't focus on social interconnectedness. They focus on the task that they're doing.
You can get spoilt in this game, you know. You reach the point where you get a new car and don't get excited about it. You get complacent, and that's what you've got to watch for.
I have to force myself to remember that if I can't do my job, people's stories won't get told, and that helps me to focus on the task at hand.
