I don't want to be typecast as a heroine doing just glamorous roles. — © Meghana Raj
I don't want to be typecast as a heroine doing just glamorous roles.
I don't choose characters according to looks. I'm comfortable doing both glamorous and non-glamorous roles.
People don't stereotype an actor anymore because they want to see them doing more content driven roles. I can do any role. I'm not worried about getting typecast because I'm doing a period film.
I don't mind doing glamorous roles, comic roles, weekly shows, or something different from what I've done earlier.
I am conscious about not getting typecast, but obviously I have to keep picking up great roles so that I don't get typecast.
I was doing well for myself and wanted to play different roles and not just be happy portraying glamorous characters.
I don't want to be typecast as a heroine who does a certain kind of cinema, which is why I experiment with the types of films that I do. But yes, I won't deny that romantic love stories or romantic comedies are what I enjoy doing the most, because as an audience those are the kind of films that I like watching.
I am an outsider. I was never offered the kind of roles where I could play the glamorous diva, because there are already so many of them doing it - and doing it well. So I had to bring to the table much more than just looking good.
I was not only typecast as a Russian, but I was typecast as Yakov Smirnoff. This is understandable, and I was very happy to get the roles, but it would be nice to be in a movie where I could be someone else.
People like you in negative roles, they want to see you only in negative roles and thus you get typecast. At the end of the day, what matters is whether the audience loves you or not.
I have been offered roles in other things, so it's just about making sure I make my decisions wisely because I don't really want to be typecast.
I play characters that allow me to do lot more than just be a glamorous heroine.
So far, I'm known for doing more commercial and glamorous roles. But I don't mind doing a short film.
I can't be typecast as a comedian. Only an actor capable of doing three-dimensional roles can do comedy.
I've always played variety of roles and don't want to get typecast.
Getting typecast depends on the roles we choose, doesn't it? When the same kind of characters are offered to you, you have the option of not doing them.
Frankly speaking, I don't want to be typecast as someone who only does negative roles.
