The makers of '21 and Over' have been screening it, and I'm getting a lot of comparisons to a young Vince Vaughn.
Vince Vaughn is a genuine person, awesome guy. He'll come to a lot of my shows. It's not that often that you can meet someone as cool as Vince.
Ultimately, if you look at the characters in my films, you'll see a lot of similarities going all the way back to 'Swingers' with Vince Vaughn's character.
Vince Vaughn is a master improviser.
Me and Vince are like cool, man. Good relationship with Vince, man, and I've been on a lot of trips with Vince, as far as with overseas, going to visit the military. And even at work, man, ideas, he's open to a lot of people, everybody, pretty much. If you have a good idea, he wants you to go in there and prepare with it.
I think we had kind of a die-hard fan base when it came out, but a lot of the people were angry with Motley for getting rid of Vince, or Vince leaving or whatever happened.
Vince McMahon is not a human being. They don't make people like Vince. Vince is Vince. I can't even describe to you what it's like being in a room with Vince McMahon. He is above man. That's the best way I can put it. Like-minded people take over the world, so I've always had a great rapport with him.
Guys like Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Sacha Baron Cohen, they do things you love to watch. I like to do the other half.
It's a lot for young players to be expected to deal with all the media, and... there is a lot of pressure to be perfect, but at 19, 20, 21, 22, you're still young and learning.
When I was first coming out, I was definitely getting a lot of comparisons to Trina.
People compare me to Kendrick. I've seen comparisons with Jay-Z, with Nas, with Chance The Rapper. I get a lot of Eminem comparisons.
He [Vince Spadea] was about as down and out as you could see from a Top 20 player. Then to claw his way back through the minor leagues and do it the hard way where he wasn't young, wasn't getting wildcards, wasn't getting any help. I guess he decided he was just going to do it.
I look really young. I always get carded at bars. No one believes that I'm over 18, let alone over 21.
I've been teaching myself the fundamentals and being around some good players, but also been learning to play team games, playing 3-on-3s, playing 1-on-1s, playing 5-on-5s, playing 21. There are guys bigger than me on the court, but I've had numerous comparisons to Ty Lawson.
At the time I left film school there wasn't a lot of hope for young film-makers. It was a calling card of film school to be quite slick and commercial, which might lead to getting some stuff on telly.
In the 1970s, a lot of critics didn't understand video. I got a lot of bad reviews. But film-makers didn't understand what we were doing, either. There were actual fistfights between film-makers and video-makers. I was witness to one.
I feel comfortable talking to Vince, which seems so crazy for me to say. For me, I've been a fan, I've been watching him forever, and I'm like, 'Yeah, I'm comfortable to talk to Vince McMahon.'
