The French people need to have all the facts so they can choose. And I won't be running away from it or hiding from it.
Facts are neutral until human beings add their own meaning to those facts. People make their decisions based on what the facts mean to them, not on the facts themselves. The meaning they add to facts depends on their current story … facts are not terribly useful to influencing others. People don’t need new facts—they need a new story.

I don't like realism. We already know the real facts about li[fe], most of the basic facts. I'm not interested in repeating what we already know. We know about sex, about violence, about murder, about war. All these things, by the time we're 18, we're up to here. From there on we need interpreters. We need poets. We need philosophers. We need theologians, who take the same basic facts and work with them and help us make do with those facts. Facts alone are not enough. It's interpretation.
The facts may tell you one thing. But, God is not limited by the facts. Choose faith in spite of the facts.
I'm a guy that, if I see people running away from something I'm like, 'Why you running away? What's over there?'
What I would ask the Democrat Party is to put your plan on the table, because most people agree with the facts, and the facts are that Social Security is running out of money.
Facts are simple and facts are straight. Facts are lazy and facts are late. Facts all come with points of view. Facts don't do what I want them to. Facts just twist the truth around. Facts are living turned inside out.
I’m not running away from my responsibilities. I’m running to them. There’s nothing negative about running away to save my life.
From here, far away, people seem very good, and that is natural, for in going away into the country we are not hiding from people but from our vanity, which in town among people is unjust and active beyond measure.
I certainly incorporate facts into my fiction. I take the basic facts from the life of my subject and I pick and choose what to use to construct a really interesting novel. I don't let facts get in the way of my imagination and my exploration of the subject's emotions and relationships.
I'm constantly running away from everything. I'm running away from things on a daily basis. I run away from relationships. I run away from responsibilities.
People - running from unhappiness, hiding in power - are locked within their reputations, ambitions, beliefs.
