A Quote by Nina Simone

It's time to take a look at my failures and stop calling them successes. Now I can start working at something that can use me best. — © Nina Simone

Look to yourself for the answer - stop calling your girlfriends and stop calling your mom - you know if it's working or not, you either feel like a goddess or you don't
Too often we just look at these glistening successes. Behind them in many, many cases is failure along the way, and that doesn't get put into the Wikipedia story or the bio. Yet those failures teach you every bit as much as the successes.
We're bombarded with images. Take the time to stop and look at something then connect with them and maybe they're thinking the same thing, I used a lot of devices to catch the eye of people who have seen a lot of stuff, having worked in advertising and in editorial. I have learned to get someone to stop and look at something, that language.

All the things that are negative in me as a person - the incompetence and despair and weakness and pain - are like a gift from God in a performer.
