'Guitar World' is one of my favorite magazines.
Psychology Today is probably one of my favorite magazines, Guitar, Guitar World. People.
The gut-strung guitar, the classical guitar, that is a whole different world on its own. When you think what the guitar can do and what every individual player does with a guitar, everyone has their own identity coming through the guitar.
I mean, no offense, but I don't really see why, like guitar players from Creed, or something like that, are on the cover of guitar magazines. Almost anybody can sit down and learn to play those songs.
Oddly enough, Hendrix is not my favorite guitar player. There are very few guitar players I get feeling from.
Oftentimes, whenever I do interviews with guitar magazines and we discuss my influences, I mention people like Steve Morse, Alex Lifeson, Al Di Meola - but John Scofield's name never comes up. And that's funny because he's so amazing; he's the epitome of a really cool guitar player.
I have a favorite blue Telecaster. It's an old '60-something, which I play at every show. That's probably my favorite all-around stage guitar.
I was always fascinated by the absurdities and luxuries and the snobbism of the world that fashion magazines showed. Of course, it’s not for everyone...But I lived in that world, not only during my years in the magazines business but for years before, because I was always of that world-- at least in my imagination.
Oh, man, I love the Staple Singers. I love Pop Staples' guitar playing, too. He's one of my favorite guitar players.
I was the only kid reading guitar magazines at the back of the classroom.
My son youngest son David's favorite song - he plays guitar - and he likes "Devil Pray." That's his favorite.
I love the architecture magazines and all of the French magazines for decoration or whatever. I end up enjoying them more sometimes than the fashion magazines.
I love fashion magazines and style magazines and when I'm travelling on an aeroplane I always have a big bag slung over my shoulder, which is full of magazines.
'Apartamento,' a magazine out of Spain but written in English, is one of my favorite magazines.
I'm not capable of wielding the guitar like Jimmy Page, one of my all-time favorite guitarists. My skill set is more based on the grinding, sort of human heartbeat - almost playing the guitar more like a drum.
I naturally own a lot of very old magazines. And I enjoy going to old magazines because the advertisements in those magazines tended to have thousands of words of copy in them.
I have no secrets; all of these things have been discussed at length in guitar magazines over the years but are far too elaborate to cover in one article.
