We derive so much of our self-confidence and validation from Instagram. Just imagine one day Instagram gets deleted like all of your friends who you think you have on social media, all these likes and comments just disappear, what are we left with? We have stopped valuing human relationships and contact.
You know, it's annoying we all get a lot of negative comments on Instagram, Twitter and stuff, but you know what? We're working hard and enjoying life.
For me, growing up at a young age in the limelight and on social media, I joined Twitter when I was 10 and I got my Instagram when I was 11, so when I joined Instagram, I did notice a lot of hate comments or people would just, like, nitpick at my appearance, just to be funny.
COME ON, I KNOW THE WEIRDEST THING. THE WEIRDEST THING IS THAT CHICK ............THAT CAME UP AND ASKED ME TO CUT HER WITH A KNIFE. ISN'T THAT THE WEIRDEST THING?
Today, I wanted to spend some time reading and responding to comments of fans on my Facebook page. Yes, there are great comments, but there are also a lot of people who are very opinionated and judgmental. So, initially, when I read these judgmental comments, I don't feel vulnerable, but rather I get defensive. But once I get past that anger, it sort of becomes hurt. It becomes pain.
If I post something on social media, like Instagram or Twitter, I never actually read the comments.
Facebook, instagram - I prefer visual communication better than verbal. But I read all the comments, answering too.
I always separate myself from reviews, but tweets and Instagram comments, they go directly to my phone. It's hard to keep up.
If there's an article about sexual assault, if there's a video about feminism on YouTube, you're going to get the most horrible, disgusting comments ever. And sometimes the comments are pornographic, and sometimes the comments are really harassing. So I think that it's kind of a difficult place for women to write sometimes.
Kanye is the weirdest... He is the weirdest person I know other than me. I've told him that before.
I think the Bible is hugely patriarchal. There are so many sexist comments and homophobic comments and comments that are not in keeping with nurturing and loving the human spirit.
I was looking at my Instagram, and someone said to me, 'Who manages your Instagram?' I would never let anyone manage my Instagram! I enjoy it.
I get really negative comments all the time, but the comments that really bother me are the ones that question my character.
I'm just being me on Instagram, and that's what I love about it. It's definitely personal, and it's, like, no one in my team would ever get my password for my Instagram. Like, that's a no-no.
You get negative comments even if you are not talking. So you can't be scared of negative comments from people.
I get stuff every single day whether that be comments on my Instagram photos, or tweets about a tweet that I put out. Just tweets that they make in general to just pick on me, make me feel bad about myself, belittle me or anything. It's not good.
