I base all my characters on hair. — © Patrick Dempsey
I base all my characters on hair.
Actors play different characters, so you have to build a new base around each new movie - with few exceptions, most actors don't have a fan base that just follows them around. With musicians, the fan base just goes everywhere they go.
I don't really base any of my characters on specific people that I know, although my characters are informed by the kind of people who live in my community.
It is important to have a base in life, and from that base you can enjoy it. To me the base is family.
I always base my characters around Miss Piggy - she's my idol!
I don't think we should base so much on weight, muscles, and a good hair day, but when it happens, it's nice. It really is.
My hair story has been unique because my mom's a German Jew, so her hair is way different than my hair. She was always learning on my hair growing up, but I would sit there for hours, and she did learn how to braid hair. Early on, it was a lot of tears while my mom was braiding my hair.
I never base characters on real people - you can get into so much trouble that way!
You cannot base a whole movie on just the imagery alone. It has to be the story and the characters.
It's a classic love story: me and my hair. I have loved my hair. I have betrayed my hair. My hair and I have gone through this long, gut-wrenching relationship.
I love wearing black. It's a real base for everything else - hair, make-up, accessories - and it's always flattering.
I'm a black woman who loves hair. I enjoy changing my hair, having fun with it - just hair! I go from braids, to weaves, to wigs, to natural hair.
Whenever I do a movie I always like to base my character off of a couple different characters.
Base words are uttered only by the base And can for such at once be understood; But noble platitudes - ah, there's a case Where the most careful scrutiny is needed To tell a voice that's genuinely good From one that's base but merely has succeeded.
My hair has been this chapter thing for me. In 'Jem,' I have blue hair. 'Insidious,' it's pink. In 'CSI,' I have blonde. I love changing my hair. It's just hair and it grows all the time.
To the image of the characters, I do change my appearance. For example, I gain weight and I lose weight sometimes, and I grow my hair and cut it. Acting is all about physical expression, so I need to change my appearance for all the characters.
Faith is so rare-and religion so common-because no one wants to live between first base and second base. Faith is the in-between space where you're not sure you'll make it to second base. You've let go of one thing and haven't yet latched into another. Most of us choose the security of first base.
