For me, I was really lucky to go to a city like Chicago where the team was struggling at the time, and I was able to go in and play right away.
I don't really get involved in it, the whole thing. I understand how important this city is and what I mean to this city and what our team means to the city... but I don't get caught up into it. I just go out and play my game. I try to lead the best way I can, and if I can put my team and this franchise in a position to win the title, I'm grateful for that.
I love Chicago - absolutely love Chicago. I mean, I'd much rather go to Chicago and do a play or a musical than New York, honestly. Because just probably for reasons that are obvious to you. It's just a little bit - it's a nicer, easier city.
I want to go to a city that suits me and a club that suits me, to a team that really wants to play football.
It's really important to have your escape away from cricket, whatever that is for the individual. I enjoy my time away from the game, that really refreshes me and lets me get excited for when I do go back in and play.
I want to be on that team that wins the world championship here in Chicago and sees the city go crazy.
Pete Krause has become a bit of a mentor to me. If there's anything that I'm struggling with right away, I'll go to him and I'll ask him questions. We've formed a really great relationship.
But I think it's important admitting to my teammates, Hey, I'm really struggling right now, and can you help me out?' Or, This serve is really killing me in the seam, can you take a step and take it for me so I can go and hit and have a better shot next time?'
I grew up with family who liked to travel and sightsee, so I have this pressure inside me: If I'm in a city and I have enough free time, I'd better go to a museum. I try to see parks, go outside. Or else try to feel really normal like go to Target or a drugstore, or go see a movie.
You look at a club like Chelsea, and you know it won't be easy to get into that team. Sometimes you have to go away, play regular first team football, and show Chelsea that you are ready to play for them.
I saw so many amazing musicians struggling to build something good. They would play and play... and play some more, but it seemed like there was something missing. I wanted to go someplace higher myself, and go there with the people who come to hear me play. So I began to envision events with their own gravity, that would pull a community of people together for a meaningful experience.
I'm able to go out there, and I'm really able to be, like, unabashedly myself. And I want somebody who's young, who's struggling, who's not sure if it's OK if they are themselves to know that it's OK.
I don't really want to go into my problems with the team at the time except to say that no one's ever had to pay me to play basketball.
I'm a Chicago kid. So, of course, I'm open to playing for the Chicago Bulls if that's a team that's interested in me. At the same time, any decision that is made, it's never personal. It's always business. I have to make the right decision for me and my family.
[on playing Walter] It was wonderful to be able to play a character who had so many colors and who was able to play comedy, to play incredibly vulnerable, which he did a lot of the time, to play the love story, and to play the relationship with the son, which is quite unusual. That's a gift to me, as an actor. It was like everything you could possibly hope for, over five years. So, I was a very lucky actor.
I like being able to go to the supermarket and go on the Tube and have an ordinary domestic life. I'd hate to have to protect myself. I'm quite lucky that I can carry on without any intrusions. I don't get given a hard time by anyone.
I want to go to a team that needs a guy like me, a shooter, a guy who can do a lot of things offensively, that can use me right away.
