A Quote by Paul Newman

Acting isn't really a creative profession. It's an interpretative one. — © Paul Newman
Acting isn't really a creative profession. It's an interpretative one.
Acting is a creative process, and directing and music. I think creative people - and I take myself as a creative person and it doesn't mean you have to be an actor, a musician, or a painter - but I think if you are in a creative profession or a creative business you do have a heightened awareness.
Writing is the great skill, the creative skill. The acting is more an interpretative skill. And the thrill for me is the moment when I think of something. And then the challenge is how to get that funny idea to work in terms of the structure and that kind of thing, which is - and that's what I really love doing.
The imagination is both interpretative and creative in nature.
I see myself as an interpretative actor rather than a creative one.
For me acting is just a profession. As much passion I have for my profession, I always seperate profession from life.
I love acting. Acting is a true love of mine, acting and math. Although they are both creative, they use very different sides of your brain. And I love both. Acting is my first love, and that's my main career, it really is.
My main goal for taking up acting as a profession was to show that sport or MMA teaches you life skills that can be applied to any profession in the world.
Acting isn't a singular profession, it is a collaborate profession.
I was very young when I began acting and I really got by on enthusiasm and love of the profession.
I thought I'd be doing theater, really. That's all I had experience with growing up. I mean, I saw movies and television, but I don't think I really connected at a young age that that was acting, that that was part of the profession.
Honestly, as hard a profession as acting is, I think music is even harder. Acting, you're like a leech, because someone else does the hard part for you. They write it for you, then the director tells you what to do. You really just need to know how to pay attention, follow instructions.
Acting is a difficult profession, it really is. It's different than singing. With singing you may have one song and four people to record it - but they'll all do it differently and they'll all have that option. Whereas with actors there might be one part, and five hundred actors all want the same role - it's so much more competitive. It's an incredibly painful profession because you get so much rejection.
Don't let the world define you. In the world of acting, and I think in any profession, really, people are really eager to put you in a box and categorize you as one particular thing.
I really identified with Jess, because my own dream was acting, which isn't the most conventional profession.
Whichever profession you are in, the profession becomes a part of your personal life too. So, acting has become a part of me in all synergies.
A lot of people are attracted to the acting profession because they think it's a cheap, easy, free ride. It really isn't.
